Seminar on China-Africa Digital and Emerging Industries Cooperation(2025)
On Sept. 26, 2025, the Seminar on China-Africa Digital and Emerging Industries Cooperation was held in Addis Ababa under the theme of deepening practical cooperation and empowering sustainable development through digital innovation. Participants discussed digital infrastructure, digital transformation and emerging industries. MIIT Minister Li Lecheng urged stronger policy dialogue, digital inclusion and cooperation centers, joint implementation of the “Ten Partnership Actions” demonstration projects in the digital sector, and expanded industrial cooperation. He also exchanged views with African ministers and senior representatives from ITU, ATU and UNDP.
Forum on China-Africa Digital Cooperation(2024)
On July 29, 2024, the Forum on China-Africa Digital Cooperation was held in Beijing under the theme “Jointly Drawing a Digital Blueprint and Sharing Development Outcomes.” Hosted by China’s MIIT, it gathered digital ministers, ambassadors and representatives from over 40 African countries, international organizations, think tanks, Chinese agencies, enterprises and financial institutions. China and 26 African countries released the Action Plan on China-Africa Digital Cooperation and Development, while CAICT issued a casebook on China’s support for Africa’s digital development.
Forum on China-Africa Digital Capacity Building Cooperation(2023)
The Forum on China-Africa Digital Capacity Building Cooperation was held in Beijing on October 19, 2023, under the theme “Strengthening Digital Capacity Building Cooperation and Jointly Seizing Digital Development Opportunities.” Hosted by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the forum gathered officials, diplomats, think tanks, enterprises and financial institutions from China and nine African countries. It focused on policy alignment, digital talent training, digital infrastructure, AI, cloud computing, big data, satellite internet, e-commerce, cybersecurity and industrial digital transformation. China and Uganda also signed an MoU on digital economy cooperation.
China-Africa Venture Capital Forum(2019)
On April 8 2019, the first China-Africa Venture Capital Forum was held in Beijing, co-hosted by GoodHope Insights and Shaka Ventures, with special support from the Beijing Science and Technology Development and Exchange Center. The forum connected 20 African founders with Chinese VCs and tech companies, featured pitches from firms such as Flutterwave, Cars45, Lori Systems, Farmcrowdy and Aerobotics, and launched the 2019 Africa New Economy White Paper. Discussions focused on Africa’s startup ecosystem, investable sectors, financing links and China-Africa new-economy cooperation.
